The purpose of the ASL EST is to assess children’s (aged 4 – 13 years) expressive signed language, specifically their ability to produce a signed narrative (story) using appropriate ASL grammar. You can only use the test after completing the training workshop and becoming ASL EST certified.
Test Package Includes
Test Package includes ASL EST materials (test manual, videos, score forms, scoring guidelines) and Training Workshop registration (Cost $650.00)
ASL EST Training Workshop is a two-day workshop to teach ASL development, test administration procedures, analysis of children’s narratives, and specifics of scoring and interpreting the test. Participants will have the opportunity to practice using the test, and at the completion of the training will be certified to use the ASL EST. With the purchase of one test package, additional participants from the same school/organization can purchase just the Training Workshop (no ASL EST test materials included) for a reduced price ($500.00).
The training workshop is conducted in ASL, so all participants must be fluent ASL users.

Individual Assessment Option
For teachers/schools who cannot attend or are not eligible (not fluent in ASL) to take the ASL EST Training Workshop, we are offering individual assessments at a fee of $75/student. You are responsible to videotape the child’s ASL narrative/story and send it to us through a secure web portal (you will receive detailed instructions on how to do this), and we will score the test and provide you with a summary of the ASL EST results.
